Losing Belly Fat Myths

Trying to get in shape can be very hard because you have to compete with a few things, although the major opponent is yourself. This is because you need to fight yourself to have the will and perseverance to do what you’ve got to do. You need to kick yourself and remind to really go for it. Once you conquer yourself, you may say that you have won the fight.

However, there’s still more. There are quite a few misinformations out there that you also need to fight with. These are myths that promise you to lose those belly fats in an instant. They give you false hopes which in the end, leaves you frustrated and still carrying around that belly fat.

Here are some losing belly fat myths that you may probably have heard of and actually believe that they are true. Well, you got that all wrong:

It is Just Water – You’ve got to hear this out; you have a bigger tummy by not drinking enough water and not because you have too much drinking. Belly fat is different from bloating. Bloating is usually accompanied by gas, indigestion, and lots of discomforts. Bloating doesn’t add ten pounds to your normal weight.

Colon Therapy – Yes, a colon therapy can help you eliminate all those compacted waste in the colon. This is also true if you don’t eat enough fiber, causing you lots of blockage. However, it’s a big NO if you think that it’s a great alternative to doing physical exercise. You may drink plenty of water and eat the right amount of fiber, then you probably don’t need a colon therapy for those blockage. Remember, colon therapy is not an alternative to healthy eating.

Starve Yourself – Depriving yourself of eating is detrimental your health and well being. Usually, this makes you crave for more food after enduring long periods of starvation. It’s the wrong way to lose those belly fats since not eating slows down your metabolism. It is better to eat several times a day but in smaller portions. For this, you won’t store food as body fat; rather you gain energy from the food you eat.

Sweat it Off – When you’re working out you are also sweating, but your sweats don’t mean that you are losing weight. In fact, sweat suits are useless if you are not doing the actual work. In truth, the fat gets burned away during work out, but not through sweating.

Not Getting Enough Sleep – If you don’t have enough hours of sleep, then it affects your health. Your bodily functions cannot perform well, plus your body won’t have the capacity to burn those belly fats. Sleep for at least 6 to 7 hours so that you can function properly and can even burn your belly fat during physical activities.

All Protein Diet – Strictly speaking, this kind of dieting doesn’t work, and worst of all, it puts your health at risk. You should keep it in your mind that there are no miracle diets, but there is proper dieting. Working out and drinking lots of fluids can be good for you, however, a diet must be first discussed with a doctor. Most likely, the doctor will merely tell you to go follow the food pyramid.
